Should Christian films be free? Should we ignore all scientists? Do religious children lose their ability to sort fact from fiction? And why is our favorite Satanist jumping on the Hobby Lobby bandwagon? This week on the podcast! (This episode was edited to remove a story that was later shown to be untrue.)

Sorry, guys. Those Michelle Bachmann quotes were published on a satirical blog and debunked ages ago:

Dear Phil Vischer, Skye Jethani and Christian Taylor,
It is ironic that while the three of you were portraying conservative Christians as being anti-intellectual, anti-science, anti-expert and anti-fact, you were quoting a satire piece as news!
Does the fact that the three of you entertained the phony Michele Bachmann on Stephen Hawking quotes as real for much of this week’s podcast reveal a bias against your conservative brothers-and-sisters-in-Christ?
Yes. If you considered conservative Christians to be your peers, you would have given us the benefit of the doubt.
What does the benefit of the doubt look like in this case? Let’s unpack that:
Google-search “Michele Bachmann Stephen Hawking” to find your eight-month-old satire quotes.
I love you anyway – that’s what Christians do.
Phil,
Love the podcast and I enjoy listening to the topics that you all discuss. While listening your to your last podcast, I was sad to hear how the comments of Michelle Bachmann regarding the black hole. I had to read the quote for myself, and while researching I came across this blog article…

Again, not sure if it proves quote is false, but that there’s a chance the quote you used of her was never actually stated. However, the satire of the article also proves how conservative Christians are viewed politically, especially in regards to science.
Kind regards,
Hi There
Is there a reason why Ep 113 has disappeared from the iTunes feed? I could’ve sworn I saw it come up last week (in the ‘Podcast’ app on the iPad), but when I finally got round to downloading it yesterday, it was mysteriously absent.
It’s not showing up in iTunes Store either.
Just as a heads up.
Cheers, love your work
Richard
