Okay everybody… here it is. We've just posted the "official" JellyTelly demo video for all the world to see at www.jellytelly.com. It's a 28 minute video where I explain the concept behind our new mini TV network and then show some sample programming. Today the first press release hits the wire, which will also send people to watch the new video. It's time to get this plane off the ground.
So what do I need from you? Simple: Help spread the word. Every dollar we have to spend telling people about JellyTelly is a dollar we can't spend on shows for JellyTelly. So the more you help spread the word, the more money we can put into shows instead of ads. So go check out the new demo at www.jellytelly.com and then tell your friends
So check it out! www.jellytelly.com! And then email the link to your friends, relatives, neighbors, children's pastors, babysitters, dog walkers, Presidential candidates… you name it. We're planting a seed here, we need you all to help water it!
www.jellytelly.com! It's time to get this party started!
Awesome! Great message and I really dig the subscription/pricing setup. I can’t wait to see the shows and spread the word. Thanks!
Wow! Absolutely love the idea! The videos are really great and very funny – I love the Wilberwhale poem! 🙂 God bless you for the work you are doing! Just to let you know, we’ve tried something simliar on a much, much smaller scale by creating and giving away for free Christian Animations (though not properly online yet – they’re still DVD hardcopies). See http://www.hopeanimation.com
Phil, you’re welcome to use them (or some excerpts of them) for Jelly Telly if you like them – we’d love to support you in any way possible and look forward to the Jelly Telly launch in fall!
Greetings from the UK,
David
I just watched the video. I think it is really fun. -I think I could memorize the Judges pretty easily with that song. I wrote down lots of notes so I can tell my friends about the new site. I almost cried when you told us about the choose your own subscription pricing. That is really great. Thank you
Phil,
I love how you built your vision into the video! It really helps parents understand what you are doing and what your passion is about. Plus, the history and discussion of the change in outreach techniques really drives it home!
I often feature worship videos and other things on my blog and find that videos over 5 min are a hard sell when spreading the word. Perhaps you could trim the video down to 5 min or less, with a short intro and then a preview of one of the shows? Bloggers could then link to the full video for those interested in the full story and the time to dedicate to watching it, while making it easy to ask for 5 min from someone to learn more (as a first step).
Great job and I look forward to spreading the word!
Way, Way, Cool.
The kids are very pleased, and we are loving the concept and the new creations.
(If the scientist could dial back the German accent a tad, the kids could more easily understand the science. We had a similar issue with zee Frenshh Peez… but we got used to zem…)
Thanks for never giving up! Well, actually, thanks for completely giving up, being broken, and poured out, and then for being lifted up again!
Joyfully,
Helen Martin
This looks awesome, Phil! I am definitely telling everyone I can. Thanks for all your work, and your dreaming.
It might be a good idea to ensure full browser compatibility on this video. It doesn’t seem to play in Firefox.
Can’t wait to see it – unfortunately at work all I have installed are Firefox 3.0 and IE 8 beta 2 – neither will view the video (and both have the Flash Player installed). I can get to it at home tonight.
Awesome Phil, just awesome, I can’t wait, and I will be supporting this is every way I can! Still trying to get hold of a HD cam to shoot some idents.
Awesome! Looks similar to the DVD curriculum I use for children’s worship. Love it and looking forward to seeing more.
Hooray! I’ve been watching your blog closely for the past few months, eagerly anticipating the unveiling of Jellytelly and I couldn’t be more pleased with the preview…and I’m 21! I will show my brothers and sisters in the morning (age range: 5 years-20 years) and I’ll let you know what they think, but I’m sure they’ll love it!
Thank you for persevering and bringing us JellyTelly, I “can’t wait” until the fall! 🙂
Does anything think that Phil looks like Steve Jobs when he made that presentation … or is it just me?
That is great! hey everyone, send everyone the link on your social networking sites. I did that on my Facebook. I’ll let you know if I get any feedback.

I just rand up my local Christian radio station for a bit of a JellyTelly plug. Off the air, the host told me she couldn’t let me plug it because they have a community license. But she told me to email it to her because she might be able to say her kids watch it.
get behind this, people!
lol

Exceeded my expectations, Phil! Most of that stuff was really funny. I loved the Spider-Man video because it was funny and, as you said, simple. And I cheered when Buck and Pete came on (my brother and I are big Jelly News fans). I’m majoring in TV Production this fall, so who knows, maybe JellyTelly will be a help to me someday. My excitement for JT has just doubled!
Congratulations Phil amazing work!
way to go!
I like it, Phil. This could really work. I hope the subscription/donation plan works for you. I’ll do my part to promote it!
How come I can’t see any video when I go to the site?
Jelly Telly has great potential. I just watched the video with my 5 and 9 year old kids, they loved it. My 5 year old said, “play another one.” I really like the idea of a lot of short segments instead of one long story. As much as I liked some of Veggie Tales longer stories, I think Veggie Tales was at its best in the earlier shows when it was a compilation of various shorts. It had more of a variety show feel which really worked.
Very cool. I like it. Except Alfred Wimberwale. That was pretty freaky. Will there be various age levels? Because I wouldn’t want my five-year-old to see that.
I am really excited Phil. I have been following your blogspot and website for quite while. I believe this is going to have a great impact on children. I am going to send the jellytelly link to all the families in my church.

This is great Phil! Can’t wait to see what happens with it. Makes me want to go back to producing full time…The teens at Red House, WV and I will continue to pray for your success.
“Little Kenny Applegate
Watched Jelly Telly ’til late
Then to Phil, laughing, did state,
‘Mr. Vischer, this is great!'”
Innovative and relevant with todays media- Jelly Telly on Black Berry’s and web access cell phones !! Presentations are in good company with Daren Streblow, whom I met awhile back… Confession on my part, we own all the Veggie Tales and we look forward to Jelly Telly even though we have no children :>

God has some big plans…can’t wait to see what He does.
You have our prayers.
Fantastic job Phil! I think this is definately the wave of the future as far as getting moralistic cool stuff in front of the eyeballs of our kids. Looking forward to this fall.
Everyone go digg this http://digg.com/television/VeggieTales_founder_meets_Web_2_0
Hey Rob! I saw you at Kidshaper? conference in melbourne a couple of years ago. I live in Melbourne. I hope you plug Jelly Telly to PlanetKids…
jonathan
This is amazing. Can we sign up as Charter Members and start our subscription early. My daughters are going to eat this up as fast as you can make it. I love the fact that you are opening it up for other Christian film makers / artist to submit videos from their ‘mini-van’ and allow us to rate them. It i simple and brilliant all at the same time.
God bless you and everyone involved…
Jeremy Crowhurst
I just sent a bulletin to all of the Sunday School Teachers at our Church and Men’s Bible Studies in our area, that included your concluding quote:
“…We think we have an amazing opportunity to create a new platform to serve Christian Families to help raise the next generation of kids so they know what they believe and know what it looks like to live their beliefs in front of a watching world…”
–Phil Vischer (aka Bob the Tomato)
By the way, thanks for avoiding the commercialism; I don’t mind my kids seeing QUBO, but Whoa! some of the commercials have my 5 year old and 3 year enraptured/mesmorized/hypno… And people ask why we limit them to PBS and 1.5 hours per day.
Thanks for building them a safe playground!
Way to go, Brother!!
way, way cool. all my friends and i just love it and can’t wait for the launch. i’ll definitely help out any way possible.
Phil, I am praying for you and your family. I hope this crusade has been easier on you both, but more fullfilling then BigIdea was ever dreamed to be. I am such a “rabid fan” and have been sine ’98 when I found out I was pregnant with my first and worried about T.V. back then. How do I say thank-you? You do not know how relieved I am that this new Jelly Telly will continue the wholesome entertaining we Veggie fans have come to love. It was getting VERY hard to find ANYTHING for my now 9 and 7yr olds that they LIKED in thier age brackets. I am spreading the word and CAN NOT WAIT!!!!
Rhett and Link as the Bentlety Brothers! That made my day! I am so excited for this. Good job Phil!
great seeing you at icrs phil, sorry we didn’t get more of a chance to speak about jelly telly. I am excited about what you’re doing and look forward to creating content the might one day find a home here!
This is so awesome. I’ve been checking your site for some time now waiting to see what God would have you do next. I think that Jelly Telly is wonderful, and I can’t wait until it launches. I started watching it last night, but had to step away for a few minutes. I come back to the computer, and my 7 year old son is captivated by the stories and songs. He watched the entire presentation, and loved it. His favorite was the “Top 10 Movies” clip. We’ll spread the word to all we can.
Phil,
Awesome, we cannot wait. We have been waiting forever for something like this. Our kids do not watch commercial TV but we are so excited about this alternative that does not undermine our Christian values. Again, can’t wait. We better watch the demo on patience again.
Thanks,
Future Subscribers
Christy, JP, Tera, Daniel and Baby-to-be
Wow! That looks absolutely amazing! I will definitely be signing up for this not only for my two daughters….but also for myself! The tale of the boy who was impatient had me cracking up. The shows have the same wit/writing as the Veggietales shows. I love the puppets as well! Congrats and may God continue to grow this seed!
Wow. Great. My mouth is open in a big ole “wow”
Might I suggest that you add a “sign-up” so you can email out when the site actually starts? i might forget, honestly! What is the age range. I am wondering if what I saw would really entice my 12 year old. He did come in the room to see what I was looking at on the TOP TEN movie thing. I think from what I saw it’s great for the 6-8 or 9 maybe 10 how about for the older kids though???
I am an elementary school teacher so I do know a thing or two about kids! 🙂
thanks! Blessings on this we need good alternatives to the junk these days! 🙂
Love it! I’m going to show that to my son tomorrow! I know he will love it! Hilarious stuff!
My Son is 3 & I showed this to him today & he loves it! We can’t wait! I have no problem with a subscription it sounds great! Can’t wait!
I am soooo excited for Jelly Telly. Count me in not only as a subscriber but as a content provider (I’m an animated filmmaker).
Could you give us some guidelines for content that you would like to have. Do you accept story pitches?
Hi Phil,
My son (5 yrs old) and I took a look at the site. It looks great. If you create a pdf of a flyer announcing jelly telly, I (and surely many others) would be happy to print some out at home and post them around town and at church. Thanks for all you guys are doing.
thanks again.
Wow. Wow. Wow.
I am more than excited. I’m not a parent, just a teen who loves kids and who is concerned about all the junk kids are watching nowadays. I babysit a lot, and I wouldn’t mind telling all the parents I know about JellyTelly.
I love all the little segments, especially the Bentley Brothers one, that was hilarious! I also like the idea of you guys giving people the choice of what to pay for JellyTelly.
Praying for you guys at Jellyfish Labs!
-Beth
We can’t wait! Loved the JellyTelly Promo. Preach it, Phil!
We’ll sign up as soon as it’s up!
On a different note, we just got back from the mall,
where Regal Cinemas was playing Pirates as part of their free
family film festival— 3 theaters, pretty full. The cathartic
experience of sharing cheese-curl humor with the crowd was
invigorating. And yet, I still got misty-eyed again at Pa Grape’s riveting
performance as a self-effacing parent, as I nearly lost it when I
saw it the first time around. Sigh…
Thanks again for allowing God to using you on this wild journey for the
last 15 years. You and your family are in our prayers!
Hi Phil,
This sounds really great. What’s the age limit for submitting your films?
Phil,
I’m a teacher with a 2 1/2 year old grandson. He is captivated by Veggie Tales and will tell you, “God loves me very much!”
I teach struggling readers. How about showcasing Christian books, and letter and math concepts like you have in some of the books you’ve written. You could have clips or skits related to Christian books, celebrity guest readers, etc. There are a lot of Christians celebrities. Anyway… just a thought.

May God richly bless this project and nourish the heart and minds of our little ones.
Very amazing. Just to say this rules. I am a 10 year old, a 3d animator (I use Blender 3d) , and am looking a bit into 2d. 🙂 Just to let u know JellyTelly is a good catch on attention for us because it has all the Philvischer-humour we need. 😀
We stumbled over here by a different website and thought I might
check things out. I like what I see so i am just following you.
Look forward to exploring your web page yet again.
