Hey y'all… we're in the midst of transition with JellyTelly as we make another attempt at turning it into a self-sustaining ministry through subscriptions, and we've got some new content headed your way. Buck Denver is still taping his weekly show, "Buck's Mail Bag," and we never cease to be amazed at the questions kids write in for Buck to answer. New episodes of that show are up every Monday, so be sure to check them out.
We're also launching a "Verse of the Week" series, that will use multiple characters and settings to teach kids one verse each week, and explain it's meaning. We think this is a really great way to bring the Bible to life for kids, and help them "hide it in their hearts."
"Michael's Movie Reviews" have been a big hit with kids, so we just finished shooting a new series of shorts with Michael called "Michael's Favorite Things." We're also just finishing 13 new episodes of "God's Amazing Animals with Clive & Ian." Look for all these new episodes on JellyTelly in the next couple of weeks! And don't miss "The 12 Questions of Christmas," a series we produced last year that was so well-received we've brought it back again! Who says you can't learn anything on the internet? Well, okay, I'm not sure anyone has every said that… but if they did, we're proving them wrong! With hand puppets!
(Speaking of which, a kid wrote in last week and asked Buck if he was a "finger puppet" or a "hand puppet." Buck looks down at his hands and says, "Since I have no fingers, I must be a hand puppet." It's in the episode that airs this week or next week… I can't remember which.)
So get your kids in front of JellyTelly! They'll learn new verse! They'll learn about animals! Hannah Montana can't touch this stuff!
In related news, I'm locking myself away next week to write the 3rd DVD in our "What's in the Bible?" series. Amazing! Number three already! The first two DVDs will hit Christian bookstores next March, and they're really, really fun and incredibly educational. My kids are quoting their favorite lines around the house, and even grown-ups who have seen the first episode are saying they're learning new things about the Bible. I can't wait for you all to see them!
Jelly on, friends!
Don’t work too hard Phil!
Cool, cool, and cool! This stuff sounds sooo great!
The new verse of the week stuff is GREAT!! I especially love that you’re using multiple characters to create it.
Thanks for working so hard to relate to kids!!!
$4.99 a month is cheap for a subscription since cable is anywhere from $10 for basic to $150, plus a dvr is $8 where As jellytelly basiclly includes the dvr.
Fantastic! All that content sounds great! (I loved Michael’s movie reviews and how he mixed everything with Star Wars) I really wish I didn’t have dial-up. Then I could actually watch on a regular basis.
I’m excited! Big Kev style (former tv ad host here in Australia who said “I’m excited” on every ad. He died a couple of years ago.)
I am looking forward to the DVDs I willl have to tell all the parents at my church about them! I too have missed out on a lot of the content on JellyTelly.com because a) i have limited internet usage and b) now cant afford the subscription.
See you soon…. or maybe not… that may have to wait to Heaven?
JP
Haha! i never get tired of the reruns, but new stuff is even better! 🙂
Yay! I loved the 12 questions of Christmas last year! 😀
Everything sounds great, Phil. But I was wondering if you could make more Quacky’s Questions or maybe Hymns That Never Made the Hymnal. I liked those.
Nice! Now if only you’d open up international subscriptions.. 🙂
Not to say that JellyTelly isnt for older children as well, even grown ups, but arent youre kids like between the ages of 13 and 18 or something?
No – Don’t don’t work too hard! Work as hard as you can! (Just do it in His strength, that’s all…)
Great to hear how everything’s going. Keep it up!
Any chance you guys will sell an educators login for Jelly Telly? We were using it at our Christian School before the change.
The new content sounds great! We haven’t been tuning in much because we thought we had pretty much seen everything for a while. (Our boys are 7,5,5,and 1. We’re LDS, and we live in the Northwest.) We’re subscribing now, and we’ll have to make it part of our day again soon.
Hey Phil, I would love to know the secret identities of the Fabulous Bentley Brothers. They sure are cool. And I would pay good money to buy a CD or audio download of their Books of the Bible songs. We’d sing along in the car if we could buy mp3s or CDs. Then before long my boys would know by memory the things the songs teach. And so would I.
I haven’t checked your blog in so long! Bad friend, I know! But how exciting it is to hear that everything is falling into place. I can hardly wait to see the DVD’s when they come out. There is a HUGE need for educational / fun / Bible-based stuff for kids! I’ll be buying that set, for sure!
You’ll be in our prayers as you lock yourself away, doing what it is you do!
Much love and God bless~

You know, I hafta say…the paid subscription means we are watching more often again. We watched faithfully before but fell away from it when it was in re-run mode…but now we’re tuned in again and loving it! We are excited about the new material…yeah I agree with the “Quacky’s Questions” and “Hymns that never made the hymnal” request–I STILL laugh at the idea of “wet, wet, I’m getting wet…” I was blind but now I see, what about something about one of the other senses–like not being able to smell? Just a thought. I don’t think puppets can smell, can they? Hmmm, maybe Buck knows.
ANYWAY…my 3 year hold has memorized the fruits of the Spirit just by watching Godrocks. THAT is worth the subscription!!!!
Phil, is there any chance of uploading some of the new content (i.e. the recent “Pirate Etiquette” episodes) on YouTube again?
Merry Christmas Phil and Lisa from Australia!
Jonathan
Can’t wait until March! Jelly Telly rocks!
