Okay, so I just finished telling you how we don't have the money for new shows for JellyTelly, and now here I am back again to tell you about a new show coming to JellyTelly! Weird, huh?
We bumped into two brothers – really wacky brothers – (and no, not the Bentley Brothers) who were trying to make their own show. They like what we're doing so much that they're bringing their show to JellyTelly. Cool, huh? The show is called "The Fantastic World" and it will premier on JellyTelly April 21. Until then they offered to make a bunch of promos to run on the site, the first of which airs today (Monday, March 23). So check out the Fantastic World promo on the site today. There will be new promos every other day or so for the next month!
And check out today's Buck Denver show, which is gradually growing just from a letter show to an entire news show. Sort of. Today's episode clocks in at 10 minutes! Crazy, huh? Let me know if you like Buck's show, or if you think it's getting too long.
See ya!
New content is always good. I’ll check it out!
Phil, I’m still more of a believer in “charging for a product” then giving it away for free, and trying to find advertising revenue. The world of advertising is a mess right now.
I think Jelly Telly is a great concept, that could work with the duality of a “subscription” model and a “pay per download” model. Even though growth will be slower, having people pay is almost always the best principle. You could go with a “freemium” model, where a certain level access is free, but to get full access they need to upgrade to a paid account.
I think the guys at 37signals are saying this best. Check out http://tinyurl.com/5x26qp (warning language).
Love Buck’s show, the longer the better :^)
Where is the fantastic world going on your schedule?
Is one of the shows on JellyTelly currently going to be dropped?
I agree with Danial. I like the part where Buck kept complaing about Phil showing off his iPhone.
I liked the longer segment with Buck too. There were some good messages woven into that segment.
I’m curious to see what the “Fantastic World” segment looks like.
Loved the long segment… Also… Agggh! that there is mail on Monday. I have been watching every Friday in case my kids questions are read and I didn’t realize there was mail on Monday!
i disliked the promo for “Fantastic World†and my little brothers didn’t like it ether.
but i love Buck!
Glad to hear that JellyTelly got a new content partner.
😀

Yes, that’s what you get for calling yourself a jellyfish.
I laughed through Buck’s spot today. That was good stuff. I suppose it COULD get too long, but not if you keep that humor up! It was great from start to finish.
loved buck’s show on monday! why doesn’t apple make an iphone exclusively for puppets? 🙂 can’t wait to see the fantastic world segment!
Good stuff…I think it a bit long, in my opinion. Would it make sense to break it up over the course of the show, separating it with promos or perhaps make it a daily segment. Run it four days and have a best of on Friday.
Ted & Charles are hysterical! I have seen them in person and laughed so hard, I cried. The best part was the kids laughed just as hard. I can’t wait for you to share them with the rest of the Fantastic World. Everyone needs a good laugh and their lessons resonate. Thank God for their creativity!
These Buck Denver Episodes can NEVER get too long. Well, at least in my opinion. Kinda like how apple pie NEVER gets too sweet (in my opinion)
Honestly, my wife and I think Buck’s segments are too long even before this latest segment. Our kids enjoy the individual pieces — news, mailbag, etc. — but they’re not as sharp-witted and fast-moving as other parts of the show or like VeggieTales in the old days. I would recommend pruning them down, or turning them into multiple shorter segments you can get to the funny bits without drawing it out so long.
Our family’s favorite parts: Bentley Brothers and anything with Clive & Ian. The books of the Bible are also superb.
My wife and I watched the promo and sort of had a “what the?” moment. Maybe more than a promo is needed to appreciate what the program is about. As far as Buck Denver goes – the more the better.
Phil, I have 3 kids, ages 5, 4, 1, and our 1 year old cries at the end of every episode because she doesn’t want it to end. The closing music literally propels her into sobbing tears.
In a nutshell, Jelly Telly has connected in a big way with our entire family. LOVE IT.
Also, I just spent 3 hours reading your blog (you are an excellent writer with a gifted “voice” in written word btw.) and I must say I’m moved by the work Christ is doing in your life and I will thank Him tonight in my prayers for your talents and experiences which I have received today as lessons and admonitions for my own life. It brought a verse to mind as I read about the demise of Big Idea and the birthing of Jelly Telly…
1Peter 2:17 “Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.”
In His grip,
S.
Seeing the promo for FW, I really didn’t think I would like it. (it’s not about the adults right, it’s for kids, so does it matter if we like it?) My kids fell in love with FW from the promos. Now they love the new episodes.
We love Buck…length is good for us. The Starbucks episode had me rolling, since I just had to go to decaf. Keep up the great work.
thanks,
Christy
I was told about the Fantastic World so I watched their first episode and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it. Although I am an adult, but a silly one, I let two friends watch this episode as well. As they sat in amazement I looked at them thinking this is the kind of Christian entertainment our children should be watching.
I am grateful for people who have this kind of love for God and are using their talents for Him. I was also impressed with their website: thefantasticworld.com.
