Monday and Tuesday of this week (Sept. 22) I'll be in Nashville, speaking at the LifeWay National Youth Workers Conference. If you happen to be at the event, swing by and say 'hi'!
While I'm there I also have a few JellyTelly meetings set up to see if we can break the logjam and get our funding resolved, so keep me in your prayers. We now have almost all of the 3rd party programs in, and our own shows are nearly done. The website is designed, it just needs to be engineered now so we can turn it on and get going. That step costs some money – as well as all the launch marketing activities – so we still can't land on an official launch date until we have the rest of our funding resolved. I'm still hoping our "Coming this Fall!" sign on the demo site remains true, but much more delay will make that difficult. (Although technically winter doesn't start until December 21st, right? So December 20th is still, technically speaking, Fall… right? That gives us plenty of time!)
I've had several new potential funding partners emerge in the last few weeks, which is good news. How long it might take us to come to an agreement with one of them and get funding, of course, wildly unpredictable.
Well… if it was easy, EVERYONE would be launching their own kids' networks!
Stay tuned for more news from Nashville…
Hi Phil…ever since we read your book, Me, Myself & Bob – my husband and I have been so encouraged with our small company and the way he wants to run it. We literally arm-wrestled over who got to read the next chapter each night. Thanks so much for sharing everything – it has had such a ripple effect. We anxiously await the next phase – Jelly Telly – our kids are CRAZY fans and everyday we listen to Veggie Tales in the car – the 70’s will never sound the same. They are working on a music video and everything! You are at the top of our prayer list and our kids will LOVE to pray for you. Thanks for making our faith and biblical learning so fun and memorable. Have fun in Nashville – Love from Colorado! The Zinn Family
I’m number 1
I`ll keep praying!
Prayers for good contacts and finalized funding commencing…marketing can be expensive and finding a good team can be tough. I’ll also pray that you have a good, honest team to help launch the Jelly into the marketplace!
Praying…
While in Nashy, see if you can enjoy some good Mexican food. For Real! There are SO many great places there. Oh, and the Latin music scene is outrageous, too.
my prayers are with you!!!and um… dec 21 is the first day of winter. but who gives a care.
The good news is that people are looking at alternative ways to invest their money these days! Well….good for some, not good for this guy I know who works in traditional investments. (Ouch, what a week!)
You will be in our prayers. Keep us posted!
Keep up the great work. Safe travel and God bless!
This is cool 🙂 I hope it’s gone well today! Blessings …
Hey, Phil, Just wanted to let you know that God is using Jelly Telly already. I have a friend Bob, and I showed him and his wife the 20 minute Intro video on jellytelly.com on Friday night. His wife told me at small group last night that hes watched it 4 times , and he knows the Judges song off by heart! He is actually 25 years old! So you’ve got a father of two kids under two who loves JellyTelly already! And I do too… Ill be subscribing when it is open, I spose.
See you soon!
Jonathan
PS (its actually higly unlikely I’ll see you soon, unless you come to Melbourne, Australia. If you do, email me!!!!!)
Enjoyed hearing you speak at the conference tonight. Had some good stuff for me. Oh, and ignore what Brigitte said above about Mexican food. As a Southern Californian who tasted Nashville mexican food for the first time tonight…..not so much.
Phil,
Not sure if this is supposed to be here, but it’s late and I’m tired,…
Your interview with our Pastor Jim Nicodem at Christ Community Church in St. Charles, Ill (whew) was great! I totally enjoyed listening to you and your story of Thomas left me ver klempt (tawk amongst ya’selvs). Beautiful story!
So the next thing is, I bought your book. Love it! I’m from the Chicagoland area, my wife worked at Wheaton College (book store) and on an odd note my mother was the cook (in the cafeteria) at David C Cook in Elgin. Being a techno geek myself, I find the book’s droning concerning the technical and logistical aspects of Big Idea’s creation quite interesting!
I’m excited for Jelly Telly now more than ever because of my five year old daughter and her propensity for the internet. If there’s anything I’d rather her be doing on the internet, it would be Jelly Telly. Before she was born, way before, her mother and I volunteered at our old church’s library, (First Baptist of Geneva, Ill, Kurt Heinecke’s church at one time.) We had the privilege to preview the first Veggies Tales video before we placed it up for circulation. We knew it was a hit, so it didn’t bother us to buy Christian videos of vegetables with no kids, we were gonna have them soon, right?
Thank you for your vision and God’s will to see it created. I hope to hear more good things coming from the funny mind of Phil Vischer! Best wishes in Nashville!
Jeff
Phil,
Just saw you with our pastor at Christ Community Church in St. Charles. I have to say, I got a little tear-y eyed when you spoke about the boy who wanted to be in a Veggie Tales video and then passed away before being able to do so. Wow! You can NEVER say that your work meant nothing, because it means something to MANY people! I wish more networks had men with morals behind the desks! I am so excited for Jelly Telly and will keep you and your staff in my prayers. Way to go and keep it up!
You never specified who’s fall (or autumn as we call it). We just started spring on the 1st of Sepember in New Zealand, which means you still have plenty of time.
P.S Launching Vege’s by word of mouth wasn’t that useful, but this time more than just your mum knows about it.
Good luck Phil. Your diligence and determination are truely inspiring. Keep it up and we continue to pray that JellyTelly will become a reality. Safe travels!
Is there a way for 10 year olds with no steady income to see this for free? 🙁
Why dont we start praying here for the final financial and legal things to come together for JellyTelly?
I’ll start.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thanks for this opportunity for You to use Phil and the rest of JellyFish labs. Please give them all the money they need to launch Jelly Telly, in Your timing. please be with Phil in all the technical and business things. Thank you for the impact he is having already throgh his book and Veggie Tales. Thanks that Your glory has already been displayed from Phil’s creative talents.
Thanks for this opportunity to pray to You! You are so Magnificent, God!
Thanks again for all the above
Amen
Jonathan
Amen, Jonathan. Amen.
And thank You, Father, for Jonathan…. and Brigitte…. and all the others out there that pray with us for Jellyfish Labs.
Amn, and I pray Lord, that you will put everything in place according to Your will, and that you will give Phil wisdom and insight as he meets with potential investors. I also ask, Lord, that You will go ahead of Phil and speak to these and other investors, so that they would be favourable in their responses to what Phil has to say. I pray, Lord that you will raise up people worldwide with a passion for You to be glorified through Jelly Telly, and that you will lay it on the hearts of those with the kind of money needed, to sow into this ministry, so that it will glorify you not only in the content, but in the quality of the content. Why should the likes of Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, etc, get all the money, when Jelly Telly has the potential to change lives, not just entertain? Be glorified in this WHOLE thing Lord, so that the world will see just how great you are!!! Amen
