This is going to be an interesting year. For lots of people, I'm sure, but especially for me and my cohorts at Jellyfish Labs. JellyTelly is up and running with our partner Focus on the Family, trying out a new subscription model for financial support, and developing new programming.
Meanwhile, What's in the Bible? – our new kids DVD series – is heading down the runway for a mid-March launch in Christian bookstores everywhere. I can't wait to show you some clips from the first two DVDs, because this is really fun – and HIGHLY educational – stuff. (My mother showed some clips to one of the classes she teaches at Wheaton College, and the graduate students in children's ministry said they learned things about the Bible they didn't know before. If it can help graduate students, think what it can do for your kids!)
I'm hoping we can find a way to get pre-release copies of our first two DVDs to some of you soon. We're discovering two things as we show the first two DVDs to friends and family: First, they can't believe how much they learn, and second, they can't stop talking about it. If this is going to work at all, we need to get a lot of people talking about it. So sharing some of this stuff with you guys early is key. Stay tuned – we'll see what we can do.
Soon, I hope!
Hooray! I hope it’s soon! I can’t wait for the DVDs this spring!
I’m glad the deal with Focus is working out so well. I was reminded of it when I saw Clive and Ian on this month’s issue of Clubhouse Jr. 🙂
Is there any plan to open up subscriptions to those of us outside the US?
We were happy to pay the subscription fee when JellyTelly first went live (and we did!) but it appears now that we’re unable to subscribe and my four-year-old would like to watch on a daily basis.
Awesome! I’ll get them for my nieces if you give me a way to buy them!
MoreThanCake.org).I am a longtime fan and follow your blog from my site. As church planter and a dad of 3 sons, I think this sounds like a great project.
If it works into your marketing plan send me a review copy and I would love to do a review / promotional from my blog More Than Cake (www.MoreThanCake.org).
My apologies, my URL got inserted at the front end of my previous post. Not sure how I managed that rather confusing mistake 🙂
I was thinking the other day about how to make great stories and videos to really teach my kids the Bible and… then I thought, Hey, that’s right, Phil’s/JellyTelly’s doing that for me soon!
Looking forward to it!
God bless!
I am really excited to see these… have been since it was announced that you were embarking on this endeavor. If you are able to secure some pre-release copies, I’d love to get one and review it for Elemental Children’s Ministry blog. I also am looking forward to seeing the accompanying curriculum that will be coming out.
That info put a smile on my face. I know my nine year old woudl love that as well and me and my husband. Look forward to it!
well, I’ll have to wait till I get a job first before I can buy any dvds or subscriptions or whatever…wanna give me a job phil?
Can’t wait!!
Hey, Lydia Williams!
I am praying for YOU! 2010 is going to be amazing!
I just landed a job after 11 months after being laid off, and there are many many people in our country (and world) that are in the same boat. As a matter of fact, one of the professional speakers at my out-placement service last year said that she felt there was an unusually high number of Christians among the unemployed, and she felt it could be that they were being fed to the lions… I actually believe, and shared with her, that there are SO many bruised, broken and bleeding people, that only the Christians will be able to get them through this.
You have wonderful talents to share, Lydia — I looked at the sketches and it is obvious that the LORD has placed great gifts into that jar of clay! I am very partial to the Robin Hood sketches (download Phil Harris here: http://otrperk.com/philharris.cgi).
I was barely able to keep my nose above the water line a few times this year, but I know that I must have been standing on the shoulders of Jesus. Who will educate our children on how to be a Light in difficult times? Really, *What’s in the Bible?*
“By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.”
Happy 2010, all you Jellies!
Hi Phil! Happy New Year to you and yours. Can’t wait to the new series. As you know, I have kids, I homeschool, I can talk, and I have a blog. So, I will chat it up if one of those pre-release copies finds itself in my mailbox. : )
So excited to hear about the new DVD’s – so I guess my children’s birthday presents are taken care of now.
As homeschoolers, we just can’t wait for the videos….my husband can’t wait for more Alfred!
I am so glad Focus on the Family picked ya’ll up! Cuz that is how I found out about Jelly Telly. We showed a clip from utube to our wednesday night Bible study class for kinder thru fifth grade. The kids and adutls were dying laughing (and learning). JellyTelly is the buz word now! We want more!
