It’s been an interesting week for Bob and Larry in veggie-land, inspiring Phil to tell the whole story of how he and his characters parted ways, and the many attempts made over the last decade to bring them back together. It’s a story we guarantee you’ve never heard before!

When the Amazingly Poignant Incident occurred where you were at Big Idea in Nashville during their “Tah-Daaah!” party of which you were not a part, was it raining, and did a cop walk up tell you to move along? I’m just wondering, because as you told that story, all I could think of was the closing scene in 1937’s Stella Dallas in which Barbara Stanwyck’s character watches through a window from the rainy street as her estranged daughter gets married. It’s really sad.
Christian, don’t look it up on YouTube. It will make you cry. Again.
Why do I know about this film? I took a Feminism and Melodrama class in college (clearly, I did not attend Wheaton).
All obscure film references aside, I’m so glad that you told your story. Christians who have been broken, who have experienced pain and know what it means to lean on God, who understand weakness and struggleโฆare the people I have always found the most genuine and encouraging.
Thank you.

I enjoyed this episode immensely on a quiet Sunday morning. It spoke to me (as did Me, Myself, and Bob) as a creative venturing into the kids’ arena more. Thank you for your transparency and your encouragement through sharing.
I appreciated this as well. Me, Myself, and Bob is still one of the only non-fiction books I’ve willingly read, and it’s interesting to hear the rest of the story (so far).
I have this week watched the new VeggieTales in the house and I have to saY although my 4 year old son likes it it is not as good as many of the others. I think the characters are ruined, I mean really is Larry now like tend yours old living with Bob his dad?. It is terrible and I don’t see it going far.
I know what it feels like to talk about a dream dying over and over again with everybody. Thank you for your honesty about your story. I have read Me,Myself, and Bob six times. I emailed you two years ago, Phil and told you about a book I was writing. (Wait, nope, four years ago…oops) You encouraged me to keep writing and now I am just coming to the precipice of the finish line and it seems everything is falling in the way. So I’m reading your book again because, besides the bible, nothing else is being as honest as you were. (Love Jelly Telly more than VeggieTales and I grew up with Bob and Larry. First episode fan!)
Question: Is there an audio version I can buy?
