I did want to relay my experience in getting married this March, in light of the article mentioned in this podcast. Since it cold in March, we wanted to have our wedding indoors, so we looked into having our wedding in multiple local churches in our area. While we are devoted followers of Christ, we were denied access to all but one church that was not our home church. The reason we were given was that we were not members. The church that said we could have our wedding at their church would have charged us a large fee because we were not members. My feeling is that churches are afraid of LGBTQ community and in order to protect themselves they have imposed this “members only” rule to protect themselves. Therefore it makes it much more difficult to get married in a church. We ended up having our wedding in our home church which was perfect and we couldn’t be happier!
