Thanks for the sports convo — I’ll definitely be playing this podcast for my baseball husband/coach and son/player! Good to talk through at family time.
PS – Your podcast has changed my family’s life! My son got a ukulele for Christmas; my daughter supplements her Tapestry of Grace curriculum with Jelly Telly/What’s in the Bible and constantly talks about the characters and asks me which is my favorite; and God is stretching this conservative Okie mind and heart with your Chicago-area Jesus talk, making me LOL and think through how to better live and love for God better in our culture that is a changin’. Bravo, brothers and sister! Keep ’em comin’, and blessings to you. 🙂
Another suggestion. You (pl) are often discussion articles found on the web. I realize you don’t want to note every thing you cite but if your discussion centers around two or three blog posts or news stories somewhere could you place links to them here on your site?
As you continue to do this (you’re up to 37 already!) it will get harder and harder to remember when you discussed what and what you referred to. This will make it easier to go back and find something you referenced, or at least to go back to see what was said.

WOW Skye! I feel like one of those “1/4 of the population” who says. “hold my beer and watch this!” Jesus is our Beloved who is the “Blessed controller of all things.” If God is Sovereign in the affairs in this world, isn’t he interested in the outcome of those “Christ Ones” who are involved in sports, government, education, military, etc?
In the Book “With”, Skye goes to great lengths in describing the Christian life with our Savior. If we truly believe that Christ is our life and we are with Him and he is with us, and every measure of our life is Honoring to Him, then doesn’t that mean that what we “do” can be considered an act of worship, obedience and praise to our Lord? Is the “Stay at Home Mom” working in obscurity just as important and the Pastor preaching from the pulpit on Sunday Mornings? How about the Christian Parent who sends their kids to “Pagan Primary School” or “Heathen High”? Is that honoring God just as much as “Home Schooling Children? Or the athlete who strives to do his/her best?
By the way – while with the Denver Broncos last year Tim Tebow would lead every post game interview with “I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my Team Mates” whether they won or lost. [Curios that the Broncos did’t go any further in the playoffs this year than they did with Tebow last year]
I think that God is just as interested in the outcome of a silly game as he is in the cancer in the life of a loved one, or the outcome of a student who studies hard to pass the final, or the outcome of a Presidential Election. I used to think that God wasn’t interested in the details of my life, or the career/ministry of teaching children in the public school system. I thought my life only mattered by the “works” I was doing in church. Thanks to the Lord’s work in my life [and the book With] I have come to realize how much Jesus loves me and is concerned with every aspect of my life.
I guess the bottom line for me is not the outcome or results of the activity but the daily walk and fellowship I now have with Jesus. And I am able to open a jar of pickles!

Thanks so much for bringing the Shane L. Windmeyer – Dan Cathy piece to our attention. What a blessing to hear how Mr. Cathy is more interested in people that the politics and even his own business. I so agree that if we keep our wits about us and love people, rather than letting ourselves get all protective and sheltered we (christians) could actually have the kind of influence the early church did.
