Loved this interview, Phil, thanks, and been appreciating several of your other podcasts as well. Currently listening to your own interview with Melinda Schmidt for ‘Bring to Mind.’
Enjoyed this podcast, Phil. When I first met you, I remember we connected on our mutual love of Steve Taylor’s music. I’ve (finally!) gotten to know him recently and he’s a great guy. I have to hide my inner geek around him because he was such a huge influence on me via his songs. You nailed it on the last song choice too! “Hero” was/ is my all time fav Steve Taylor song also!
Looking forward to your Doug TenNapel podcast next!
Dear Phil and company,
Thanks so much for bringing Steve Taylor to the podcast! I wasn’t aware of him back in the day–I graduated from high school in 1992 and had other Steves (Green and Curtis Chapman) on my “playlist.” Now I’m becoming more of a fan of Mr. Taylor for not only his witty and satirical lyrics but also his involvement with both the Newsboys and Sixpence. Now I know where all of those witty metaphors in “Breakfast in Hell” and “Shine” come from. (Steve reminds me of a kinder, gentler (and more Christ-centered) version of a modern Jonathan Swift–the author of “A Modern Proposal.”)
Thanks for broadening our horizons!
P.S. I’m not sure if it’s me or the new website, but I’ve tried to finish this email over 7 times; whenever I hit backspace to edit, it sends me to the podcast page for your interview with your brother Rob. I learned after the third time to just copy what I had written so far and then paste it when I “lost” it. Consider me a “dedicated” fan. 🙂
why don’t you do a podcast with Mike Nirocki as special guest
