Skye is back in town! We hear about his travels out west, then the group careens wildly through this week’s stories about Christian movies, heaven, the end times, evangelistic atheists and, of course, gay rights. Buckle up for the ride!

It was with excitement that I heard mention of my beloved province of Manitoba on this podcast. Skye quickly squashed that good feeling with his “further from Heaven” comment.
I always thought that most of Manitoba’s natural landscape was similar to that of Minnesota – except for our flat parts where you can watch your dog run away from home…for three days. Is Minnesota also far from Heaven? North Dakota?
Perhaps Skye was referring to our cultural elements. While Manitoba is in no way next door to Heaven, let alone on the same street, we are closer than several European countries. I would agree that we are looking for a more European feel to our neighbourhood.
Upon reflection, this comment struck me as very un-Skye like. The implication of the comment is that some areas of the world (and thus people) are closer to God’s ‘home’ not because they decided to follow Jesus, but because they were born, or choose to live, in a certain place.
Most likely, Skye was bantering around with his friends while people like me were fortunate enough to hear and enjoy the conversation.
If any of you are in Manitoba and have some time, please drop me a line. I would welcome the opportunity to show some the quiet natural beauty of Manitoba.
Regards,
David T
An thoughtful show this week. I seem to remember a sermon by Skye some time ago. He mentioned that every one in Heaven will receive a name, presented by Jesus, known only between our Savior and that person. Revelation 2:17
Hi PVP crew,
I don’t mean to “blow up” your website, but I FINALLY have time to comment on the podcasts. 🙂
I always find your topics and conversation stimluating, encouraging, and humorous. I feel like I’m in a coffee shop taking part in a conversation with like-minded, thoughtful friends who love God and want to understand how to make following Him a reality.
One question or issue I was thinking would be interesting for you all to discuss is this: the current news story about the beef that scientists have created from bovine stem cells–how does creating and eating such a product align or conflict with God’s command to have dominion over the earth and subdue it? I wonder if such artificially created foods will cause us to be not only unfaithful stewards of the resources God has given us but also prone to gluttony and hedonism. I’m not advocating for people becoming vegetarians or vegans, but more responsible managers of God’s creation.
Finally, a request I had was for the theme song. I was wondering if Phil could sing the podcast theme song in the voice of one of his first “character impersonations” from when he was a child. Since Phil has been working with characters and puppets for many years, there must be a few early character impersonations that you used to do when learning your craft. 🙂 So, which voice actor or character inspired you to start developing all of these signature character voices? Could you sing the podcast theme song in homage to them?
Thanks again for taking the time to give us a BRILLIANT podcast!
Here is the best explanation I ever heard for why the Westboro Baptists are like that.

Do the theme song as Gorge! Or have you already done that and do it as scooter or big jim
