Britain is a nation of religious illiterates! Or so says the BBC. But what’s the solution – religious instruction in public schools?? Then, in honor of Halloween, the gang discusses the peculiar evangelical outreach known as the “Hell House,” and a pastor in hot water for building himself a 16,000 square foot house! (Wait – that last story isn’t Halloween-related. Oh well. It’s still a sure sign of … THE END OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION!)

Paul did scare at least one person in preaching the gospel.
Acts 24:25
As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.”
It was likely the “judgement to come” that was the scary part.
At about 10 minutes, Phil asks, “Who can really teach the Bible (in public schools) without bias?”
How about we teach children, and especially teens, to recognize bias when they see or hear it?
My daughters took a logic class in high school and then several classes examining worldviews. They can analyze speeches, movies, etc. and spot the worldview of the creator instantly!
They also make comments like “What a logic fallacy” or “He’s appealing to emotion; that’s a logic fallacy”when listening to political speeches. I’m amazed at what their logic class taught them.
I tried to learn logic myself and used “The Fallacy Detective: Thirty-Six Lessons on How to Recognize Bad Reasoning” by Nathaniel and Hans Bluedorn.
