Do you prefer your movie Satans with or without eyebrows? And journalist and author Andy Crouch joins Skye and Phil to discuss remarkable new research showing a direct connection between healthy democracies and Protestant missionaries. What?? Pith helmets and Bibles saved the world?!? It was the BEGINNING of Western civilization!!

Wasn’t it about a year ago when Phil said he rarely read books? He’s become a book reading machine of late. That’s been good for us. Andy Crouch is a wonderful guest (as are many of Phil’s guests … PS. Bring Eric Metaxas back!). Maybe Phil could debut the Phil Vischer Broadcast List of Recommended Readings. Thanks to Skye for his insights and multi-prayers for Christian and her ailing back.
Thank you for the podcasts. Sadly, our missionaries are not tolerated in muslim countries. If only they knew that Christians make good citizens, and encourage education, and living peaceful lives. And there is a push to re-write history. Some would like to scrub Christianity from our beginnings. Good, moral citizens may be easier to govern, but unless their motivation and power to be moral comes from Christ, their eternal state is just as hot as the immoral lost. As Skye Jethani said in his books–there is the danger of innoculating our own in Sunday School from the gospel.
I love your podcast. I know you have been ignoring theme song requests but how about singing it as Skye or Christian??
Great guest. The yeast of the kingdom of God will always bring good to any region. It is darkness without the light. Others just enjoy the benefits brought by the righteous ones. Jesus already came back by 70 A.D.-he will not need to wrap up history. He ended the Jewish old covenant age and the new covenant age never ends so his kingdom will never end. We can continue to be his image bearers in this life and the next forever. ~I see a lot of eyebrows on the mugs you swig from. Seems like a pod cast from a space pod with them staring you down each week they appear in front of the screen.
Great show and interesting as always! I agree with Janis. Please invite Eric Metaxas back for another appearance. Good timing for that might be in early May to coincide with the Chick-fil-A Leadercast. One of the speakers is Malcolm Gladwell. I’m hoping he speaks on his new book, David and Goliath! Gladwell was the special guest at Socrates in the City just before Christmas. Would Leadercast be relevant to cover on the show?
