I just got this email from a children's pastor in Florida… I think I want to put it on the back of our next DVD case…
"I actually challenged my senior pastor's wife to watch an episode and if she didn't learn at least 10 things I would run around the church clucking like a chicken. I'm happy to report I did not have to cluck… Thank you so much for what you are doing!"
Heh heh… heh heh…

Very Cool quote indeed! Allow me to tell you how thankful I am for WITB and Jelly Telly. I caught part of the “God in America” special on PBS….the part that talked about how around about the same time as Darwin’s theory of evolution was proposed – the idea that the Bible could not be literally true gained some momentum in the US. Prior to this most people believed the Bible was literally true and this rocked society and was antecedent to cultural shifts. The whole time they are explaining reasons why people thought the Bible cant be literally true – I’m thinking – they need to watch WITB and see all the reasons why the Bible can be trusted and is literally true! And I was thinking how thankful I was for a resource like WITB that systematically explains the Bible – especially tricky bits that might cause people to doubt and not believe. So thank you so much for doing what you do!!!! 🙂 🙂
I’d like to second Amy. I love that you don’t shy away from the tricky bits. I may disagree with your answers, but it still gives me an opening to talk with my kids. What might be even more important, it teaches them how adults handle disagreements.
This has nothing to do with your post – but I am a mother of a toddler and I look forward to introducing him to Jelly Telly’s. My husband and I know your heart is in the right place to reach children with the truth of God’s word and we parents appreciate the help telling them about the bible.
I’m so excited to be reviewing and giving a way a copy of volume 4 of What’s In The Bible? coming up in November.
As a former children’s pastor, I’m most excited about putting this into the hands of parents, encouraging parents to do this as a family! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard devastated parents say ‘but I raised them in church’ but never spoke about the Word of God in their own home. Some are too afraid because they’re scared they’ll screw up. I don’t think they realize that most of the volunteers for children’s ministry don’t know much either! This is a great tool to bridge the gap for parents!
Thank you!
My dear wife purchased the latest WIB for me as a gift while I was on a trip, and my joy was made complete in returning home to my loving family followed almost immediately by getting to watch the long-awaited fourth DVD! And it was wonderful. Of particular note was the explanation of why the Israelites were given the task of (permanently) removing the inhabitants of the Promised Land, and how the consequence of sin is death. This is a difficult concept for the kids to grasp, but you handled it very effectively; now I can’t wait to show it in our next Sunday School!
I think you should write back to the children’s pastor in Florida, and ask that the senior pastor’s wife do the running around, clucking like a chicken. THAT would be a site to see! Especially if they did a video and posted it on YouTube. Heh heh…
Keep up the good work Phil.
Any chance of these hitting Netflix? Keep up the awesome work, Mr. Vischer.
My new favorite quote: “I have a sudden urge to recycle.”
I’ve just watched the first 2 DVDs and am recommending them to my parents. thanks for LOL!
