Phil, Skye and Christian discuss the latest from Pat Robertson and recent lashback about his show from Two and a Half Men star Angus T. Jones (who became a Seventh-Day Adventist!). Plus Phil reviews of Rise of the Guardians and the gang talks about criticism surrounding VeggieTales teaching morality more than Christianity.

Angus T. Jones: Yeah, he should have been more tactful in what he said. He does seem to be stuck in a pretty difficult place, though. He’s a new Christian who suddenly knows that his show isn’t edifying. May he find wisdom.
Rise of The Guardians: The best adjective I can think of for that movie is “fluffy”. It’s a beautiful, whimsical film that has brought many memories of childhood, but there’s no substance. They put their best attempts forward at making characters like the Easter Bunny have relevance, but it was still so… empty.
Veggie-Tales: Let’s not forget that Veggie-Tales had some limitations that you set right from the beginning (and rightly so). You can’t show something like a crucifixion without making a vegetable for Jesus… and would you really want to show Jesus as a vegetable? Veggie-Tales deserves some of the criticism it got in the podcast, but it still fulfilled its purpose, and brought God’s messages to millions.
Maybe Angus T. Jones could sponsor the monster truck.
Referring to 22:38-51 of the podcast, it seems quite a stretch of the imagination to claim that Christianity borrowed the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the story of Dionysus being torn apart by titans, boiled, and revived by his grandma.
Morality is very important for children! Morality is the law and the law is our schoolmaster leading us to Christ. I was ready for the gospel as a little child because I knew that I was mean to my sister and disobedient to my parents. Of course, since then my understanding of depravity has grown, as has my understanding of Jesus’ indescribable sacrifice. Needless to say, I’m glad that my parents instilled morality into my young consciousness.
Glad you are back, Christian! You keep Phil and Skye from getting too caustic with their sarcasm, etc. (which cannot be completely done away with, because that seems to be a hallmark of the show… much like Plinky Pete). So thanks for coming back!
Earth was here and covered with water before the Spirit moved to put it in order and add things to it in the 6 days after. It could have been in space for billions of years before that move of the Spirit. So you can have an old earth and a young creation. Dake study Bible says there was a creation given to Satan and he rebelled and God destroyed the first creation that he at one time allowed Satan to rule. It states that Man/Adam was given a second creation and of course Satan tricked Adam to give dominion back to him to work his will again. The earth was formless and empty/void after Satan’s first judgment. God put dinosaurs in Adams creation but the Noahic flood ended the environment they were accustomed too. There are stories that few still survive in remote locations of smaller species that could have adapted to the new atmosphere etc.
