Is there “magic” in the Bible? Plus, a new book suggests that “Christian America” is not just a modern idea, but a modern idea invented by corporate America! This week on the podcast!

Another great podcast today! Thank you so much – I look forward to these each Tuesday!
I wanted to ask a question regarding your discussion of praying in certain ways as an attempt to manipulate God (this has been swirling around in my head since I read “With” a year ago).
What is to be our motivation for asking others to pray for us? I often wonder if we are trying to play a game of numbers…if we get enough people praying, then God will certainly hear and answer our prayer. This is clearly another way we try to control and manipulate God.
On the other hand, Paul asked the believers to pray on his behalf. How does this compare/contrast with the way David prayed for his son, or the way Jesus prayed in the garden?
Great podcast!
Where can I find the article regarding the beginnings of “Christian nation” America?
Great Podcast!! Very informative! I’m not certain on whether I should or shouldn’t read the book on Christianity and Corporate America………..
Hi All,
Loved the podcast about Magic in the Bible and Christian America! Hello!! I was as astonished as Christian. Made me think, which I’m sure is your aim. Thank you, for such witty and engaging commentary. By the way…why does Sky (spelling?) ring his little bell? This podcast is a great resource.
Thanks,
Tina Stephens
This was kind of awesome and refreshing! Seriously loved it!
Well… Interesting and entertaining history lesson here.. I was actually looking for some answers on why there is magic in the veggie tale movie celery night fever? Has veggies gone dark side? B/c the bible says to have nothing to do with magic. That I presume to be ALL magic. White and black-good and bad. That is what I teach my kids.. Then in the movie ‘voila’ (literally) there us magic. I’m frustrated! Have I missed something??
First of all I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to
ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your thoughts before writing. I have had a tough time
clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
are lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas
or tips? Kudos!
You’ve got superb info listed here.
I like reading a post that can make people think.
Also, many thanks for permitting me to comment!
