Hi ho – excuse me for not posting anything over the break. I was busy not doing anything. You should try it sometime – it's quite pleasant.
But now the kids are back in school and I'm back in the office and it's time to start doing things again. So here goes…
You may have noticed we haven't posted the January Update at JellyTelly.com yet. This is because we aren't entirely sure what all we're going to say. We're prepping to launch the next version of the site based on feedback from version 1, and also trying to figure out how many of the new features will be ready. So I can't record the news update yet, since I just don't know. But we have TOP people working on it. So by the end of the week (I'm hoping) or early next week we should have something to say, and the next version of the site to show. So hang in there.
Also… if you'll be at the big Children's Pastor's Conference in Nashville this week, I'll be stopping by briefly on Wednesday night to tell everyone about JellyTelly and show some samples. Feel free to swing by and say 'hi!'
Hope your Christmas and New Years were both merry! (And I hope you and your kids enjoyed Clive & Ian's "Twelve Questions of Christmas" on JellyTelly last month! That's just the kind of fun thing we can do with a "mini-network!" Whee!)
Jelly on…
LOVED Clive and Ian’s 12 Questions! Happy Epiphany!
Glad you had such a relaxing break Phil – I’d say you and your team have earned it! Clive and Ian’s 12 Questions were great – as were the Stocking Sing-a-longs. It was really nice to hear the great reasons behind so many of the Christmas traditions – kind of a “breath of fresh air” for our family. We especially enjoyed “The Very First Noel” movie!
Part of this year’s Christmas was getting your book under the tree. I kinda knew I was getting it because a few weeks prior to Christmas my daughter blurted out, “Aunt Denise got Daddy the Bob The Tomato book, right Mommy?”
Best wishes to you and yours for 2009, Phil!
Our kids loved Clive and Ian’s 12 Questions of Christmas. WE all just love Jelly Telly!
My 6 year old and I both loved the 12 questions of Christmas. Being Jewish, we especially liked the one about Hannukah – thank you for that. BTW, before next year’s Christmas Ian might be interested to learn there were actually 5 Macabee brothers in Hannukah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mattathias). Then again, by next year we might have to have retroactive budget cuts and reduce that size of the family.
Coming to thing about it, if you have any content that touches on Judaism you should just send it to me first for fact checking(1).
(1) This is of course a shameless attempt by me to get content early, motivated by my desire to see the videos and appreciation of your work. But if I can help, just ask. Really.
Looking forward to the launch of the new site. Would love to be able to access it on my mobile device, but not getting any hopes up. I really like what I’ve seen so far, but am bummed that we missed “The Very First Noel” – we were traveling most of that day right after church.
I also appreciated the “12 Questions” – a lot of good information there and presented in a way that my daughter was able to take it in and remember it, though she really liked the “Save It” lines.
Thank you and the team for your work on the site. It’s great having something that we can look forward to that isn’t mindless television. Be sure to show a Bentley Brothers clip if you get a chance or have the rights to do so – that’s by far the adult favorite around here (with Michael being really close). My daughter pretty much appreciates all of it.
Hello “old” friend! I, too, did just about nothing over the holiday…it was the first time I experienced doing nothing. Glad to also be “back in the saddle” again. Your old grade school buddy from Muscatine, Iowa…Les
Absolutely loved the programming in Dec..and ditto about the “First Noel” movie. My husband was so impressed by it that we watched it twice in a row (back to back)! He would like to buy it actually…and so here’s a thought:
When you promote/show programming from others on Jelly Telly, would it be possible to put a place for site links, like maybe under the “grown ups” section or something? My son loves the Pond series as well.
Thanks for all of this incredible, safe, godly programming.
Thanks for the update Phil! I too enjoyed the December programming very much, the highlight being “The Very first Noel” it is a gorgeous Christmas special, and although I’m planning on buying it, It better be a tradition for JellyTelly! (and actually it was the only Sunday that I actually had time to sit down and watch JellyTelly, or any TV for that matter) One suggestion I would like to make is to perhaps keep the Sunday programming up for Monday viewing as well. Keep up the good work!
Phil, loved all of the Christmas JellyTelly’s, especially Buck’s Christmas poem!
“12 Questions” was great too–we learned a lot and were surprised at how many times those questions / topics came up over the holidays.
Many blessings to all who make JellyTelly possible! Can’t wait to see what’s coming later this month and throughout the year.
Phil just finished your book. I found it online a few months ago(could be more life with 3yr old and 11mo twins does something to your mind) I saw it looked at it and decide not to buy at that time. However I constantly had your book cover randomly pop up in my thoughts. Now that I have finished reading it I realize that it may have been God whispering to me. we too own a graphic business big on creativity short on business and your story was exactly what I needed right now. Thankyou
I cannot wait to see what God has you doing next.
We are seriously in love with MSI segment on JellyTelly! Dr. Schniffenhousen rules… “please keep your eye-clothes on,” was our favorite tonight. Thanks for the science awareness- our family LOVES it.
YAY…I’ve been quite excited about the Jr. Giants movie (LOVE THOSE) but was bummed that Sunday would be so busy we might not get to watch it. ECSTATIC that it was on Saturday. Was that an accident? It was a happy one, if so.
Charla shared my enthusiasm for the surprise on Saturday. I had a busy Sunday planned and I was happy to get have a Saturday Morning flashback to when I was a kid. (minus the footed pajamas)
Oh, I still DO the footed pajamas! And we also did “Junior’s Giants” FOUR TIMES in 2 days! HUGE hit around here…and also very quotable.
Eerie, too…as the father in the show IS MY HUSBAND. I saw it the first time without him and freaked out but didn’t tell him WHY I was so insistent he watch the show…then HE freaked out. It’s him. I married that man.
My four-year-old was in tears when the Saturday page was removed and we couldn’t accidentally watch Junior’s Giants anymore. What was I to do? So I found the website of the series and ordered both episodes! Thanks for the into — AWESOME series.
Hoarse and tired, then back in the saddle… Is there a little equine influence here, Phil?
Loved your book. Cried all the way through “Dreams II”. God was definitely speaking to my heart.
